play@home
This 2 1/2hr session aims to link with those who work with
families and children under 5 years to share the importance of physical
activity in early childhood.
Overview
The play@home toolkit is a practical way to assist local
early years workers to develop a common understanding of theories that underpin
health improvement, education and promotion of physical activity in early
years.
The training is offered to a diverse range of practitioners
who work in health, local authority or voluntary sector and who have experience
in childcare, early education, physical activity and health promotion.
The training helps workers link theory to practice, relate
to current policy context and develop partnership approaches at a local level.
The training also considers approaches to tackling health inequalities and hard
to reach families and groups.
The participants can then deliver training locally as
age-related modules i.e. birth to one, one to three and three to five years, or
as a whole package, if they wish.
